Today, I will be blabbering about what chess bestows upon thy user;especially for me and why you might wanna give it a shot.
Despite its tactical genius and several benefits, it remains underappreciated at our school, S.t John Baptist De La Salle Catholic School. People always say chess helps with critical thinking, problem-solving, and concentration. Sure, it does all that, but let me tell you my story. Chess isn't just a game, it's been a game changer for me. It’s taught me patience, strategic thinking, and more than anything it taught me how to stay calm while you're crumbling down and withering away.
Honestly, before I got into chess,It might seem exaggerated but I struggled with staying focused. But chess turned things around. Now, thinking a few steps ahead feels natural, and my concentration has seriously improved.
Beyond my own experiences, a study from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health delves into the cognitive benefits of chess, particularly as we age. Researchers there have been analyzing how chess affects aging brains and have found evidence suggesting that playing chess may help prevent cognitive decline.
Moreover, the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health reviewed various studies on cognitive activities like chess. Their findings highlight that engaging in such mentally stimulating activities can act as a protective factor against dementia. This is significant because it means that chess isn't just a game but also a long investment for your future self as it's also a tool for maintaining brain health.
